This architecture provides a unique solution to the primary challenge of scalable entanglement distribution, which is crucial for large-scale quantum computing. Dr. Stephanie Simmons, Founder and Chief Quantum Officer at Photonic, emphasized the importance of entanglement distribution in unlocking the commercial promise of quantum computing. Photonic’s approach, based on optically-linked silicon spin qubits with a native telecom networking interface, integrates with today's global telecommunications networks. Three demonstrations, culminating in the teleported CNOT gate sequence, established and consumed distributed quantum entanglement.
